01Who we are
Remi's World is an educational media brand for toddlers and preschoolers songs, videos, printables, and a fast-growing cast of friendly characters.
Remi's World ("we", "us" or "our") runs the website you're reading right now, our YouTube channel @remisworld4kids, and future apps, shop products, and partner experiences. This policy applies to all of them unless we tell you otherwise.
We take kids' privacy seriously because our audience is kids. We've designed Remi's World so that children don't need to hand over personal information to enjoy it the grown-ups in their lives are the ones who talk to us.
02A note about kids under 13
Remi's World is a general-audience website directed at a family audience, but most of our storytelling is made for children. We follow COPPA, GDPR-K, and the UK's Age Appropriate Design Code.
Under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent rules in the EU (GDPR), UK, and Canada, services aimed at children can only collect personal information from a child with clear, verifiable parental consent and ideally should avoid collecting it at all.
Our approach: we do not ask children for accounts, names, emails, photos, location, or any contact details. The interactive forms on Remi's World (newsletter, coming-soon waitlist, contact) are clearly framed for parents, caregivers, teachers, and other adults.
If you're a parent and you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information without your consent, email us at privacy@remisworld.com and we will delete it promptly.
03What we collect and why
The smallest amount of information we can do our job well with. Nothing more.
From parents & adults:
- Email address when you sign up for our newsletter or join the "Coming Soon" waitlist for Amazon, Google Play, App Store, or Shop launches. We use it only to send you the thing you asked for.
- Optional details you share with the newsletter form (first name, whether you're a parent or teacher, country). These help us tailor what we send you.
- Messages you send us via email or contact forms, plus anything you choose to include.
Automatically, when anyone visits:
- Basic technical information your browser sends approximate region, device type, browser, and the pages you visit. We use this to keep the site working and improve what we offer.
- A handful of strictly necessary cookies to remember settings and prevent abuse. See the cookies section below.
We do not use behavioural advertising, build profiles of children, use facial recognition, or sell any information to anyone.
04How we use it
- To send the newsletter or launch notification you signed up for.
- To answer questions you ask us.
- To keep Remi's World safe, stable, and accessible (debugging, fighting spam, measuring which pages load slowly, etc.).
- To understand, in aggregate, what families enjoy so we make more of it.
- To comply with the law when we have to, like responding to valid legal requests.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Ever. We also don't show third-party ads to visitors on the Remi's World website.
05Cookies and similar tech
Nothing is saved until you say yes. In the EU, UK, and anywhere else with similar laws, we wait for consent before setting non-essential cookies.
We group cookies into three friendly buckets:
- Strictly necessary make the site work (security, remembering your cookie choice). Always on.
- Preferences remember small things like whether you've dismissed a popup or chosen a language.
- Analytics anonymous counters that tell us which pages families enjoy. No cross-site tracking, no ad profiles.
You saw the "Cookie preferences" banner on your first visit. You can change your mind any time by clicking the button in the bottom-left corner of every page.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the site may look or behave differently.
06People who help us run Remi’s World
We work with a small group of trusted providers. They only receive the information they need to do their job, and they're bound to protect it.
Today our main helpers are:
- Our hosting provider, which stores the website and database.
- Our email delivery provider, which sends the newsletter and notification emails.
- Cloudinary, which stores and delivers the images and videos you see on the site.
- YouTube, which serves the embedded videos on our pages. When you play a video, YouTube's own privacy policy applies. We use privacy-enhanced embeds wherever possible.
When you leave Remi's World by clicking a third-party link (Amazon, Google Play, App Store, a shop partner, a social network), you enter that company's world and their privacy policy takes over from ours.
07Your rights as a family
Depending on where you live, you (or your child, with your help) may have the right to:
- See a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Withdraw consent for newsletters or notifications at any time.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Move your data to another service (data portability).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection regulator if you feel we've let you down.
To exercise any of these, just email privacy@remisworld.com. We aim to reply within 30 days. For children under 13, the parent or guardian can make the request on their behalf we may ask a reasonable question or two to confirm you're who you say you are.
08How we keep it safe
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), limit who on our team can see personal information, keep software up to date, and delete data once we no longer need it. No system is 100% bulletproof, but we work hard to stay ahead of the problem and we'll tell you quickly if something serious ever happens.
09If you live outside the United States
Remi's World is run from the United States. When you use our site or write to us, your information may be processed in the U.S. or in any country where our service providers operate. Wherever your data goes, we apply the same high standards and, where required, use approved transfer mechanisms (like Standard Contractual Clauses).
10How long we keep things
- Newsletter emails: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression period to make sure we don't email you again by mistake.
- Coming-soon signups: until the platform you signed up for launches, plus 90 days then we delete.
- Support emails: up to 24 months so we have context if you write back.
- Technical logs: up to 90 days for debugging and security.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Remi's World grows new products, new platforms, new rules. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. If the change is big (for example, a new way we use data), we'll let the newsletter know before it takes effect so you always have time to decide.
12Contact us
If anything about this policy is confusing, or if you want to exercise one of your rights above, please write to us. A real person on the Remi's World team will read your note.
